Department of Geography and Lifelong Learning Unit organized a joint workshop about (The Impact of Heat Islands on Baghdad’s Rising Temperatures), at the lecture room for graduate education, on December 7. Asst. Prof Dr. Oras Gani Abdulhussein and Lect. Dr. Kawthar Nassir Abbas gave a definition of the meaning of heat islands. They also explained that heat islands had contributed to Baghdad’s rising temperatures, hitting 2 Celsius more that its suburbs in summer.
