Supervised by the Dean of the College of Education for Women, Asst.Prof.Dr. Athmar Shaker Majeed Al-Shatari, The department of English held a symposium of literature on “Understanding Homeland Through Literature: Place, Memory, and Meaning” on Monday , 13/11/2023, on Sociology department hall. The symposium aimed to highlighting how literature uses place as an important element in building national and emotional identity, and highlighting the role of memory in building patriotism and how literature can contribute to preserving the nation’s history and national identity.
