Under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Education for Women, Asst. Prof. Dr. Athmar Shaker Majeed Al-Shatri, and the supervision of the Head of the Home Economics Department, Asst. Prof. Iman Ali Hadi, the department, in cooperation with the Scientific Affairs Unit, held a scientific symposium titled ((The Use of Artificial Intelligence in Recycling Industrial Waste and Promoting Sustainable Development)) on Monday, 17/2/2025 at ten o’clock in the morning, and in the discussion hall in the College of Education for Women, the symposium opened with an exhibition on healthy nutrition and its role in promoting health It included a set of healthy and balanced food pillars. It was attended by the respected Dean of the Faculty, Asst. Prof. Dr. Athmar Shaker Majeed Al-Shatri, the Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Hashem, and a group of faculty members, employees, and students, along with professors from the department, lectured in it.

The seminar aims to find out the following:

1- Demonstrating the role of artificial intelligence in improving recycling processes and protecting the environment.

2- Revealing the role of artificial intelligence in promoting sustainable development.

3- Knowing the role of artificial intelligence in future trends, and the use of new technologies.

4- How to educate community members to contribute to reducing waste and achieving sustainability.

The symposium reached a set of recommendations, the most important of which are:

1- Artificial intelligence can contribute to improving the quality of life for current and future generations

2- Artificial intelligence can be used to improve the quality of recycled waste.

3- With the advancement of technology, governments, institutions and the international community must adopt strategies that ensure the responsible and balanced use of artificial intelligence, to become a tool that supports the achievement of comprehensive sustainability.
