The Dean of the College of Education for Women, Assistant Professor Dr. Athmar Shaker Majeed Al-Shatri, participated on Monday morning, 27/1/2025, in the First National Conference on Psychological and Educational Counseling in Iraq, in the presence of the Minister of Education, Dr. Ibrahim Namis Al-Jubouri, presidents of Iraqi universities, several directors in the Ministries of Education and Higher Education and educational counselors.
The conference aims to revive and activate the educational and psychological counseling system in the Ministries of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Education.
The National Security Advisor, Mr. Al-Araji, started the conference with a speech in which he pointed out that the National Security Advisor paid attention to the file of psychological and educational support in the education and higher education sector, because it represents a fundamental pillar in the interest of Iraqi national security, to protect generations from the dangers of wrong behaviors and negative phenomena, stressing that the Chancellery prepared early on special methodological plans to deal with this file in coordination with the Ministries of Education and Higher Education.
Mr. Al-Araji praised the efforts of all institutions that contributed to the maturation of this file, which received the attention of the Prime Minister personally, through the issuance of Resolution No. (12) of 2024, which obligated to activate the psychological and educational counseling system in the Ministries of Education and Higher Education.
Mr. Al-Araji stressed that students represent a complete system that needs to deal scientifically and accurately according to guiding curricula that establish solid generations, praising the role of the effective teacher and teacher in building generations amid a healthy psychological environment in addition to scientific sobriety, which in turn produces a conscious generation that leads the march of his country and is part of building Iraq.
